Hello kids, 
This is the last unit of the red book. You're almost in third semester. Exciting! 
Here you have this week's activities. 

 CAN & CAN'T

Como recuerdan vimos este tema en la ultima clase. 
*Utilizamos can y can't para hablar de nuestras habilidades. Cosas que podemos hacer y cosas que no podemos hacer, por ejemplo: 
I can speak English. (Puedo hablar Ingles)
 I can't speak Chinese. (No puedo hablar Chino)

*Can y Can't se puede usar con todos los pronombres (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).

*Oraciones positivas = I can sing loud.
Sujeto + can + verbo + complemento.


*Oraciones negativas = I can't play the guitar.
Sujeto  + can't + verbo + complemento


*Preguntas = Can I go to the restroom?
Can + Sujeto + verbo + complemento + ?

WHAT'S ____LIKE?

Usamos esta pregunta para saber como es algo o alguien.  *En la linea ponemos el sujeto (Pronombre) 

 Ya vimos esta pregunta cuando aprendimos a describir a las personas. 

EJEMPLO:

*What's Jhon like? / What's he like?

He's smart, thin and tall. 

*What's Mary like? / What's she like?

She's pretty and crazy.

*What are Mary & Jhon like ? / What are they like?

They are funny, tall and thin.

Ahora la volvemos a ver para describir lugares. Utilizamos el pronombre IT para hablar de esos lugares, animales y objetos. Ejemplo:

1. What's it like? / What's New York city like?

(ambas preguntas preguntan lo mismo)

Contestamos con: It's big, exciting and fun. 
(El mismo pronombre con el que hicimos la pregunta)



*Recuerda que algunos adjetivos son para personas y otros para lugares como fun y funny.  Utilizamos Fun para describir un lugar y Funny para describir a una persona.

2. Contesta las siguientes preguntas utilizando los adjetivos que hemos visto en clase. 

 

Example.

Welcome back. Here's this week's activities. 


ACTIVITY 1
To start with, we will practice how to read the clock. Go to this link and practice. 

ACTIVITY 2
In this activity you will practice the second form we learnt to tell the time. 

Remember:

1. Nine O'clock                   = nueve en punto.
2. Half past nine                 = nueve y media 
3. A quarter to nine            = cuarto para las nueve
4. A quarter after nine      = nueve y cuarto
5. ten to nine                       = diez para las nueve
6. ten after nine                    = nueve y diez 

*En este juego sustituimos la palabra after por past.
*Un quarter son 15 minutos


LES DEJO LA SIGUIENTE IMAGEN QUE RESUME UN POCO COMO DECIR LA HORA.

Clock Madness. In this game you will practice your listening and spelling skills. 

Steps:

1. Click on "spelling"

2. Click on "collect the stars"

3. Click on "Play" 

4. Spell the times.  

ACTIVITY 5

 Practice your listening skills. 

1. Click on "Questions"

2. Click on "Tresure Chest"

3. Click on "Play" 

4. Mueve el cursor sobre la bocina y escucha la respuestas a la pregunta.

5. Elige la mejor respuesta y dale click

Play "Space rider". This game is like serpientes y escaleras. We are practicing the possesive adjectives. 

1. Click on "Space rider" (El primer juego, el del OVNI verde) 
2. Click on "Single Mode"
3. Click the dice (dado). 
4. Play

Play "Penguins in a Peril". 
-Press "Start"
-¨Play

Play "Word 2 word".
-Press start
-Press GO
-Tienen que hacer click en cada palabra para ordenarlas hasta formar la oracion. 
-No se inquieten por el tiempo.
-Pueden jugarlo muchas veces. 


ACTIVITY 4 
Play "Adjectives". 

-No son todos los adjetivos que vimos en clase pero son algunos. Hay unos nuevos como estos:
Strong=Fuerte
Ugly=Feo 
Weak=Debil

Memory game. 
Go to this link and play a memory game about family members.
1. Press "Play". 

Vayan al link de arriba y jueguen el memorama sobre los familiares. 



ACTIVITY 2 
Crossword.
 Go to this other link and complete the crossword. You have to listen to the sounds and spell the words you hear. 
2. Press "Play". 

Vayan al link de arriba y completen el crucigrama. Tienen que escuchar el miembro de la familia y despues escribirlo en inglés. 



ACTIVITY 3 
Shout out. Go to this link and play the game. You need to do the following steps. 

1. Press the "Vocabulary" button. 
2. Press the "Shout out" button. 
3. Press any button. / Presiona cualquier boton. 
4. Press the "play" button. / Presiona el botton de play (bocinita). 
5.  Press the "load" button. / Presiona donde dice load. 
6. Click on the correct image according to what you heard on step 1 . / Dale click a la imagen correcta de acuerdo a lo que escuchaste en el paso 1. 
7. Press the "next round" button and start again. / Presiona el boton "next round" y empieza otra vez. 
8. Termina todos los ejercicios y toma captura de pantalla. 

ACTIVITY 4 
Go this other link to practice the spelling of the numbers. 
Necesitan presionar letra por letra hasta escribir el numero que les da el juego. Después aprieten el botón "next word".
